Amicii Frozen Vegetables

Client: Kubo ICC

Brand: Amicii

Project: Packaging design

The Brief:

Amicii is the master brand of ice cream of Kubo ICC, one of Romania’s leaders in ice cream production.

In the context of the ice cream seasonality, Kubo hired Ampro to develop a brand extension for frozen vegetables, in order to balance the off-season company business.

The main objective of the brief was to ensure a distinctive brand identity and an outstanding packaging design.

The Solution:

The big idea was to have the natural product as a brand differentiator, by showing the fact that the vegetables are coming to the customer directly from nature and without being modified.

Taking the strategy to the approach of the design, we used the sunny natural landscape in the background and the piece of cardboard as a holding device for the product name (similar to the ones used in the traditional market for fresh vegetables).

Dexi

Client: Silverlink

Brand: Dexi

Project: Packaging design

The Brief:

Create a new value-for-money, smart, friendly and visible detergent brand.

The Solution:

After conducting a market audit, we realized that the category lacks people, happiness and joy, being a bit too technical.

We combined the little pleasures of the ordinary people in their ordinary life into the “Dexi world”! Joy, color, playing kids, dance, birds, flowers – these elements show that the inspirational side of each product should come from a truthful side of life. This is the Dexi world: not sophisticated, not over-promising, just “a normal detergent brand for a normal world.”

Freddy’s

Client: Schmidt retail concept

Brand: Freddy’s

Project: Brand & packaging design

The Brief:

Create the brand of a local fruits and snacks shop.

The Solution:

After conducting a brand audit, it was obvious that the main advantage of the brand was given by the natural benefits and the proximity.

The big idea was to translate the natural benefits and the proximity into a simple and smart visual language.

Starting from a splash (from the logo), we created the iconic packaging design: “the exclamation sign”. All the packages are one color printed, in order to fit within the given budget, but also to show diversity in the shop (we have one different color on the pack for each product).

Spria

Client: Food Distributione

Brand: Spria

Project: Packaging design

The Brief:

Food Distributione is a local chocolate producer and they teamed up with Ampro to design their new upper mainstream brand, Spria.

The main objective of the brief was to create the image for a quality brand of chocolate that promotes local archaic flavor taste of homemade preserves.

The brand image must convey old traditions and make you think of homemade products.

The Solution:

Chocolate written brand name and delicate watercolor illustrations, balanced by the photorealistic appealing product image created the design concept we chose for the package. The visual territory of the package takes the consumer into a magical, ultra-feminine, universe of flavors.

X-Snacks

Client: Engelmi

Brand: X-Snacks

Project: Brand development & packaging design

The Brief:

Our task was to develop a disruptive snack brand for the European market.

The Solution:

After conducting a market research and category audit, we discovered that

in Romania, on a market full of products particularly created for young

people (15 and 25 years), there are no products that look and speak their language! The “X” was precisely generated for this type of consumers, the X snacks.

The small break you need to have while you are in the office, your friend that accompanies you when you are alone and watch TV, but also when you hang out with your friends drinking a beer, the little snack that calms you when you are a bit hungry, the appetite satisfaction of chewing, the antidote to boredom, the concentration aid …This is the “X”!

Hochland – Delicii Calde

Client: Hochland Romania

Brand: Delicii calde

Project: Packaging design

The Brief:

Hochland is market leader in cheese category in Romania, with a significant market share across the entire Europe.

Ampro’s task was to develop a line extension for all Hochland warm application products.

The Solution:

Following the brief, we understood that we needed to have a different approach for the warm app. In order to be as descriptive as possible, we named the range Delicii Calde (warm delights). In order to further differentiate the range, we also decided to change the hierarchy on the front of the pack .

As a way to stay under the Hochland established visual world we used the blue “wave” as a brand signal, but we changed the background – from a natural visual territory to a comfy kitchen one. We also used a darker palette of colors in order to stand out on the  shelf. Last but not least, the fonts are cursive and rounded to imply the feminine/human touch.

Hochland Creme

Client: Hochland Romania

Brand: Hochland Creme

Project: Packaging design

The Brief:

Hochland is market leader in cheese category in Romania, with a significant market share across the entire Europe.

Ampro’s task was to redesign the Hochland Crème packaging as a part of the entire product portfolio redesign.

The Solution:

To ensure brand consistency, we used the new Hochland brand cues: the blue wave as the brand signal and the new front of pack architecture.

Hochland – Mixtett

Client: Hochland Romania

Brand: Hochland Mixtett

Project: Packaging redesign

The Brief:

Hochland is market leader in cheese category in Romania, with a significant market share across the entire Europe.

Ampro’s task was to design a new processed cheese product range under the Hochland Mixtett brand.

The Solution:

The big idea was to use a feminine theme of painted textiles for the entire range of products, in a well-defined architecture.

To celebrate the diversity in the range, we developed the packaging design with the focus on the flavor color-coding.

Granmare

Client: Rewe International / Penny

Brand: Granmare

Project: Retailer’s own private label and packaging design

The Brief:

Rewe International is a leading German retailer that owns Penny Market, a discounter with operations in 7 European countries.

Based on a long-term partnership, Ampro’s task was to redesign their international own brand for frozen fish products, Granmare.

The Solution:

The main challenge was that the existing design had no clear front of pack architecture and it was almost impossible to ensure a consistent branding in such a big product portfolio (more than 50 products).

Our solution was to create comprehensive brand architecture with enough brand cues in order to make the brand recognizable on shelf:

  • The Granmare wave;
  • The background landscape
  • The wooden texture.

Casablanca

Client: Rewe Group / Penny International

Brand: Casablanca

Project: Retail private label packaging design

The Brief:

Rewe commissioned Ampro to develop their mainstream international coffee brand for Penny Market.

The main objective of the brief was to develop a quality credible brand that may cover a wide range of coffee and coffee-related products.

The Solution:

CASABLANCA cannot talk about tradition in coffee production, but can talk about tradition in atmosphere and passion. This is the reason for which the brand differentiator is the emotional attribute. We went further by suggesting the unique taste & flavor given by the atmosphere of the brand.

The design idea was to emphasize the emotional attributes of the brand by using the image of a retro couple. The shape of the cup is made from the “C” letter of the logo. To create the CASABLANCA atmosphere, the brand imagery is grayscale, and it shows characters similar to the 1940s motion picture “CASABLANCA“ where the dress code of the characters is typical for the 40’s. If CASABLANCA were a person, then she would be a well-dressed lady of the 40’s.
